Grand Canyon du Verdon (France)
In some places it is up to 700 m deep and its almost vertical limestone walls are only 6 meters apart at the narrowest points. It is certainly worth a 6-hour hike along the 14 km long Martel Trail, which passes through tunnels in several places. At the end of the canyon is the enormous man-made lake Lac de Ste-Croix.
