Amalfi (Italy)

The fabulous town has a charming promenade of Lungomare dei Cavalieri, a harbor and a small beach. Fontana del Popolo from the 16th century is located on Piazza Duomo. A monumental staircase leads to St. Andrew's House (San Andrea, 9th century). portal, bronze doors cast in Constantinople (1066) and an Arabic bell tower with a colorful canopy, the Baroque interior is decorated with mosaics, marble sculptures, canvases and two pulpits, and the bones of St. Andrew are stored in the crypt.
The atrium is connected to the courtyard of the monastery of Chiostro del Paradiso, which is decorated with crossed arcades and rich ornamental decoration. In the tangle of alleys, the covered Via dei Mercanti, full of shops in the Middle Ages, is interesting. The small museum houses the Tabula Amalfitane (14th century), attesting to the privileged position of the Maritime Republic of Amalfi. Unforgettable views are offered from the highest picturesque corners. As an embodiment of natural beauty and diversity, Amalfi was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997.
