Bordeaux (France)

The new millennium was a turning point for the city. The mayor with boulevards made pedestrian zones, restored neoclassical architecture and introduced a modern public transport system. The city center is located between the Place Gambetta, full of flowers, and the wide river Garonne, which flows in both directions according to the tides. In 2007, half of the city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
