Kost Castle (Czechia)

The basic part of the castle was built in the 14th century by Beneš of Vartenberk. Albrecht of Wallenstein belonged to frequently changing owners. Three ponds were established in the neighborhood of the castle. Water could flood them in danger of the castle surroundings. The castle was then unavailable to the attacker. The most impressive is the massive defensive and residential tower of the inner castle.
