Mariazell (Austria)
It offers hiking, mountain biking and skiing, but is best known as Austria's most important pilgrimage site. The local basilica from 1157 hides a sacred statue of the Virgin Mary, and on weekends and on August 15 (Assumption Day) and September 8 (Names of the Virgin Mary) piles of full buses arrive here.
