Monte Sant Angelo (Italy)
The most important monument is the shrine, where the archangel Michael appeared (around 490). The above-ground part, which enters the cave, was built in the 13th century. On the right is a massive octagonal belfry, also from the 13th century. The stairs meet the cave, serving as a chapel. Inside you will notice the remains of the fresco decoration and the episcopal table (12th century). At the highest point of the Demenorman-Aragon castle from the 10th century. The greatest reconstruction of the mansion was made during the reign of Federico II, who allegedly repaired it for his mistress Bianca Lancia. Not far from the sanctuary is the Baptistery, built around 1200. Inside is the tomb of Langobard King Rothari (Tomba di Rotari). Right next to the Santa Maria Maggiorez, 1170.
