If you take your caravan or motor home southwest on a winding but picturesque road (SS63), it will take you through the Parma Apennines to La Spezia on the Ligurian coast. Parco Del Gigante, which is part of the Parco Nazionale dell´Appenino Tosco-E-miliano, extends in the same direction. The most marked hiking trail is Matilda, a 4-7 day trek from Ciana to San Pellegrino. Another point of interest is the sharp limestone excavation of Pietra di Bismantova. Cycling and hiking trails are very popular.
