The healing effects of lightly radioactive sulfur-bearing springs, which originate from the depths of the earth at a temperature of less than 67 degrees and promise relief in particular for joint problems, were already known in the Romans era. Between the center and the seafront promenade lies a spa park with a house of culture, and certainly worth a visit to the Spa Island and Balneological Museum.
