Treviso is promoted as a citta d´acqua, a water city and very often compared with Venice. The Sile River, flowing through the city and the canals are beautiful. The square is dominated by Palazzo dei Trecento, the main avenue leads to the cathedral, which hides frescoes. The Museo Civico di Santa Caterina and the monastery belonging to it hold many treasures. Worth visiting is the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and the Dominican Chapter. In summer you can take a one-day ride on the river Sile all the way to the Venice lagoon and back again.
